Apple says that “a very limited number” of iPhone 5S models have been sold to customers with battery problems.
The new iPhone 5S boasts a ten hour battery life but some users have found that to be false. The statement made by Apple does not disclose the exact amount of units plagued by this manufacturing error, but it seems to imply a number hovering around a few thousand units.
Apple says to know which users are affected by the error and will contact you, if you happen to own one of those devices. They also said that they would replace all affected devices.
Apple today announced earnings of $7.5 Billion on 33.8 Million iphones, 14.1 Million iPads, and 4.6 Million Macs.
According to Apple, the sale of 33.8 million iPhones was record breaking for the September three-month quarter. Apple sold 0.1Million more iPads this year than it did last year. However, Mac sales are down, at 4.6 Million units sold compared to 4.9 Million a year ago. Apple’s official conference call begins at 2:00 PST at investor.apple.com.
Find My Friends, Podcasts, and iTunes Trailers have all been updated today with a new iOS 7 look and feel. The new apps feature iOS 7’s opacity, clarity, and ultra minimalism.
New icons have also been released with the icons.

Shipping times for the iPhone 5s have dropped from “October” to 2-3 weeks. While we can only speculate, this may be in part to a larger inventory of 5s’s or a lessening demand.
Customers reached out to us today saying that their 5s’s, on backorder, will be shipping next week.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, joined Twitter today; as of currently, the CEO has over 114,000 followers. Twitter also verified the account, indicating that the account is indeed the official account of Tim Cook.
Tim tweeted today about visiting Apple retail stores today, on the launch of the iPhone 5s. Cook is also follower by fellow Apple executive Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Marketing.
It seems fitting that Tim joins twitter, following Phil Schiller, Eddy Cue, and others. Additionally, Twitter has been integrated deep within iOS since iOS 5. iOS 7 also brings additional Twitter integration.
Announced last week at its iPhone 5s and 5c event, the latest iteration of its mobile operating system will debut tomorrow, Wednesday, September 18.
iOS 7 brings a host of new changes such as control center, which allows you to quickly access your settings, a new notification center, AirDrop, and a complete overhaul of the design.
iOS 7 is perhaps the biggest change to iOS since its incarnation in 2007.
If you’re thinking about updating tomorrow, then there’s a few steps you’ll need to take.
1. Make sure you’re compatible – iOS 7 will run on the iPhone 4 and above, iPad 2 and above, and iPod Touch fifth generation or above.
2. Back up your data. Backup your data to iCloud or iTunes. This will save your data in the event that something goes wrong during the updating process.
3. Keep your device plugged in when updating. iOS 7 will be released over the air (OTA) via the settings app or available through iTunes on a Mac or PC.
